(click to enlarge) approximately 30 kilometers stretches from the mouth of Flumendosa and goes along the beaches of San Giovanni, Is Perdigonis, Torre Salinas and Colostrai, up to the beach of Feraxi.

The coast of Muravera ends at S. Giusta Head, where the coast of the City of Castiadas begins. The Castiadas coast Muravera is famous for the Scoglio di Peppino (Peppino`s Cliff), which is the object of many legends.

Muravera is a well-known tourist site with infrastructures and facilities for all your vacation needs, including shopping centers, nautical centers, sport facilities and organization of tours. The varied environment, characterized by mountains fading into plains, which roll out toward the lagoons, abound with wildlife. The small orchards near the rivers give off a lovely fragrance with combines with the fragrance of the sea.

Local religious celebrations include that of Sant`Agostino (at the end of August) and of San Nicola, the patron saint (December 6th). In the springtime, during the month of April, Muravera hosts the Citrus Festival, featuring a parade along the main street. In this parade you can see folkloristic groups from all over the island and traditional etnotraccas (museum floats showing scenes and typical customs from the past).

Its gastronomic tradition includes a variety of simple and tasty dishes made with locally-produced ingredients; even with the use of new technology, Muravera`s cuisine is still genuine. You can try a wholesome white bread made with durum wheat flour, or prazzidas and panadas, rustic savory pies filled with vegetables and farm-quality meat. You can enjoy tasty cheeses made with cow`s, goat`s or sheep`s milk. To accompany your meal, choose from a variety of renowned wines, such as Cannonau, Nuragus, Vermentino and Rosato di Capo Ferraro.

Agriturismo facilities around in the area. Halfway between a restaurant and an inn, these agritusimi offer you a combination of day or overnight hospitality and local meals which faithfully respect time-honored recipes.
